In 1917, the primary Woodlawn Vase was awarded to the Preakness winner, who wasn't allowed to keep it. Ultimately, a half-size reproduction of the trophy was given to winners to maintain forever.This was the 2nd playoff Conference between both of these groups; their only former meeting was within the 2023 Western Conference second round, which Vega
